Governance
Climate impact
As members of the EUDCA we are signatories to the Climate Neutral Data Center Pact. We are a founding member of the iMasons Climate Accord (ICA) which aims to reduce carbon in digital infrastructure materials, products, and power. We have pledged to be climate neutral by 2030.
Energy
Power used by us and our customers will be 100% renewable and carbon free. We will use hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) for our generator sets. We operate to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) standard.
Efficiency
Our annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) at full capacity will be less than 1.2. We operate to the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems standard.
Water
We strive to reduce water usage and aim for Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of zero. In addition we always seek to harvest rainwater.
Waste
We make the excess heat we generate available to local communities. We will explore all opportunities for the reuse, repair, or recycling of 100% of M&E and IT equipment with the aim of reducing waste to landfill to zero.
Design
Our facilities undergo a rigorous Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based on EN 15978 to ensure that we always consider the carbon footprint of our buildings. By evaluating the use of materials such as low-carbon concrete, steel and aluminium along with enhanced insulation techniques, we aim to decrease both embodied carbon and energy waste.
Construction
All new builds are assessed to BREEAM sustainable standards, with a target of “Excellent” or better, ensuring that we focus on sustainability, resource efficiency and circular economy principles.
Biodiversity
We implement comprehensive ecological landscaping strategies at our facilities, designed to cultivate and sustain diverse ecosystems of native plants and wildlife.
